I am selecting minimserver in the control point software and navigating through the directory tree to the playlist folder. I don't know how to answer your last part as I don't know enough about minim. Alternatively, you can install MinimServer 2.2 using the 'update install' described in the first paragraph of this section. When I attempt to play the URLs with the correct info (BBC 2) they still don't play. Hi I have been using my synology server with the built in Media Servr option but have seen many users of Linn DS systems extolling the virtues of minim server. If you are running MinimServer on a NAS (Synology, QNAP or ASUSTOR), you can download MinimServer 2.2 from the MinimServer downloads page and do a manual install in Package Center or App Center. I must have copied the incorrect stream info from the previous post on the forum. If you try to play one the URLs without '.' (such as BBC Radio 2), does this work?Īre you using MinimServer or MinimStreamer to play these URLs? If a URL contains '.', it is incorrect and it won't work. m3u file to see whether these '.' strings are present there. Please copy and paste the contents of your. I am attaching the playlist file I am using. This is all a bit new to me so I would value any help you could offer. I don't know how to take this any further. I have been able to view the playlist in the N-Stream control point software on the iPad under "playlists" but when I click the name of the station I don't get playback. I have created a M3U playlist containing the names and URLs of the radio audio streams and dropped it onto my Synology NAS in the same directory that my music is located. I have been trying to do this based on other posts in this forum. From your screenshot, you are using Synology DSM to open the Synology MinimServer 2 instance. The MinimServer note icon and the MinimWatch note icon look the same. MinimWatch (if it is running) shows note icons for all other instances of MinimServer that are runnng on other devices. One solution seems to be to route the traffic via minim streamer and UPnP. MinimServer shows a note icon for the Mac instance of MinimServer. ![]() The buffer keeps emptying out and playback stutters and fails when using the inbuilt iRadio function of the NDX. Website also states that it will be available for: Synology (all models) Windows (all versions from Windows XP onwards. ![]() The Minim website indicates that MinimServer 2 sets a new direction for MinimServer, with an emphasis on ease of use and a choice of versions to meet the needs of different users. I too am trying to get HiDef (320kbps) radio to work on a Naim NDX. Just noticed that there is now a new updated version of MinimServer out called MinimServer 2. oh also the the Music Station app is terrible at Internet Radio! Minimserver is free (or by voluntary donation) and Asset has a free trial, so you could try them both and see which you prefer. However, now that Asset is available for Synology, I would probably go for that based on its reputation for being easier to set up. C:Usersyour-user-nameAppDataRoamingMinimServer. It’s been pretty reliable as an alternative to the US. It will not conflict with the version of Java that MinimServer is using. If you want an OpenHome renderer, you need to install BubbleUPnP Server and you need to install whatever version of Java this needs. On a Synology NAS or QNAP NAS, the etc folder is in the MinimServer shared folder. RE: MinimServer 2 and BubbleUPnP on Synology NAS. That said, AudioStation supports 24bit replay and I guess I now have to go check and see what plays! 24/96 I'm sure works but haven't tried and 24/192 files as I don't own any.Īs to the Music Station app, it's OK but not as usable as, say, Sonos, though I did junk Sonos for this system and IMHO it's worth it for the step up in SQ, even at 16/44. These files are located in an etc folder whose location depends on the device you are using to run MinimServer, described below. ![]() I've noted no difference in SQ compared to when I've used the DragonFly on various laptops and have done a fair amount of comparison (this is my main system!), though I am considering a linear PSU for the NAS (=audiophilia nervosa) My concerns are also around the USB controller implementation on the NAS (hardware) & the firmware/driver that Synology use too, I think it's Class 1 Audio compliant, but not Class 2. Synology DS214 plus USB DAC here too AudioQuest DragonFly 1.2 (using a 30cm USB extension lead to get it away from the electrical noise I 'perceive' the NAS may have, and also closer to the amplifier with a shorter 3.5mm to RCA lead) ![]()
